The aging eye process affects every person, generally around the age of forty we start to notice our eyesight is not that great anymore for reading. Although this is natural there are ways that any person can manipulate and improve the aging eye process.
A lot of ageing eye problems later in life are due to a loss of eye tone in the eye muscles. Like all muscles they must be exercised to maintain levels of eye health and fitness and reduce the possibility of eye problems. It is at this stage of our aging health that we may look for treatments such as eye laser treatment or simply visiting an optometrist to see if we are ready for eye glasses. A more natural approach (and cheaper) to help aging eyes is to do daily eye exercises as shown below that will help tone the eye muscles and keep them elastic.
Aging Eye Exercise 1.
Sitting with your head motionless, hands on knees and your back and spine straight. Move your eyes upwards to a point as far as you can, then down to a point as far as you can, without straining, repeat four times, blinking a few times at the end to relax the eye muscles.
Eye Exercise 2.
Do the same thing to points to your right and left, at eye level. Use your fingers or two pencils raised as your vision points, view them clearly without straining. Repeat four times, blink a few times and rest.
Eye Exercise 3.
Choose a point up to the right corner of your eyes and another down to the left corner of your eyes, repeat four times and do the same thing in reverse. Blink several times, close eyes and rest.
Eye Exercise 4.
Leave this one for three of four days after you have started the above exercises.
Starting from the floor, roll the eyes slowly clockwise in a full circle back to the floor. Blink, rest and repeat in the opposite direction, again blink and rest. Do this exercise five times.
Aging Eye Exercise 5.
Alternate your vision by beginning with your finger or a pencil out from your nose and seeing it clearly. Then alternate from the pencil to an object far in the distance and back to the pencil again. Repeat several times, blink, rest.
Eye Exercise 6.
Squeeze your eyes tightly closed for three seconds.
Eye Exercise 7.
This exercise is called palming, it is very beneficial for aging eyes and important for preserving the eyesight. Briskly rub your palms together to charge them with electricity and place the cupped palms over the closed eyes. Start by doing about 30 seconds and gradually increase the time. It’s also beneficial to do deep breathing exercises as well.
Never force your eye exercises, especially for the ageing eye exercise 4.
Try to do these exercises daily, remember good habits slow the aging process.
